- The Tourbillons within the Collection
IWC is a world-known watchmaker, which has always offered a wide variety of chronographs, and the beginning of this year’s Watches and Wonders benefitted from another collection-Portugieser IWC Watches.
Portugieser timepiece by IWC pays homage to the sophisticated details usually found on the brand’s high-design watches, as well as to its amateur automatons. Portugieser has been silent for nearly a decade, as the last time the brand put the collection on display was 10 years ago. The latest release now contains Chronograph, Automatic, Yacht Club, Calendar and Tourbillon. All the mentioned varieties come in the steel version, but each has a single outlet of 18 karat red gold – and that is what makes the timepieces so valuable. What is more, IWC watches assert that wear-resistance with this type of red gold is 5 to tenfold higher. As a result, it is called Armor gold.

IWC Watches: Portugieser Timepiece- Automatic
Portugieser Automatic’s diameter is the smallest in the row. It has only 40mm, whereas at the beginning, IWC watches, were famous for their massive size. The cost of Automatic has gone up, and now the watch with a beautiful design is obtainable at 7300 USD. Both ladies and gentlemen can wear the small diameter wristwatch as its design is not for a particular gender only. The look of it is an inspiration from the primary design from 1930s. The freshness of the watch is put on show with non-wearing ceramic details of the movement – caliber 82200.
The Chronograph

Imagine having a shiny IWC Portugieser timepiece in your lavish collection… The dark red and green variations bring another level of boldness to the manufacturings. The model alterations can be inspected easily because of the quarter second room inside its glass buckle.
Perpetual Calendar
A slimmer calendar model is this year’s novelty in the collection of the brand. The very first Perpetual was released back in the 1980s. Calendar feature is now accessible not from the top, but from the side.

Yacht Club
A total reconstruction of the Yacht Club took place this year. Tide shown on the case of the Yacht Club Moon and Tide is the one which shows water levels of both high and low rate that are expected soon. Dual moon display is also found within this IWC watches.
The Tourbillons within the Collection
Chronograph and Perpetual Calendar varieties have experienced further alterations recently, and now they include 2 tourbillons. Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon’s case has 2 models – Armor gold or platinum. This model will be available in 50 pieces only. The impressive look of the tourbillon carriage is set at 12 o’clock. The moon phase on the other hand, is found in the facing direction of the 6 o’clock.
The Portugieser Tourbillon Retrograde Chronograph is the last tourbillon by IWC Watches and Wonders. The retro-looking case with the combination of flying tourbillon makes the timepiece feel quite elegant at your wrist. IWC Portugieser timepiece boutiques hold a total of 50 limited editions of this model, that are again, available with Armor gold and platinum.
